2018 Athletics Carnival

2018 03 23 athletics carnival 02On Tuesday 20th March we held our annual Athletics Carnival. It is great to see students participate enthusiastically in a range of events and display their skills.

In many ways life is like a race. The apostle Paul wrote “My friends, I don’t feel that I have already arrived. But I forget what is behind, and I struggle for what is ahead. I run toward the goal, so that I can win the prize of being called to heaven. This is the prize that God offers because of what Christ Jesus has done.” (Philippians 3:13-14) In a race we focus on should focus on getting to the finish line, and not worry about what is happening off to the side, or behind us. The Christian life is similar – we should focus on serving God in what he has called us to do.

One of the other aspects I enjoy about the Athletics Carnival is how the students cheer for and encourage each other. This is a great reminder of the value of community, and how we can encourage and support each other.

The ribbons and awards from the Athletics Carnival will be presented at the assembly on Learning Display Day, on April 10th.
